Sticky Dogs
Sticky Dogs are those who "stick around" a little longer than others.
Perhaps they have medical issues, behavioral issues, social issues, are a little older or just
for whatever reason have "stuck" around and need that extra love and attention to find their forever home.
Some of these dogs also have a scholarship where someone has pledged a certain amount towards their normal adoption
fee to aid in their getting adopted.

Cassie
Labrador Retriever x German Shepherd Dog
1 1/2 years old - Short coat - Female
Cassie is a 1 1/2 year old Lab-Shepherd mix who hails from Taiwan. She came over to the US to find a new lease on life. She is on the shy side and will need a family that wants to help build her confidence. She is an absolute sweetheart when she knows you and she will seek you out as she does her foster mom. Until she knows her people she will be shy and reserved. She is not a barker.
Cassie currently lives with big dogs and is fine with them. She is not the best option for small dogs. She likes the rough and tough dogs. Her best friend at her foster home is Murphy who is a 30lbs GSP-Beagle mix. He has a "take on the world" kind of attitude and she loves it! She also lives with much bigger dogs and she is completely at home with them. Give her a St. Bernard and she's fine...
Cassie will require a very dog experienced home that is willing to give a lengthy period of time for her to adjust to new people and a new home. She will hide most likely for the first 48 hours and not come out. After that she will slowly begin to adapt as long as she is allowed to adjust at her pace. For folks who are accustomed to a boisterous, outgoing personality then she is not a great option. She will never be one who is attracted to strangers but rather will want to hide or shy away from them. Once she knows her family she will bond with them and find her confidence with those who she can trust but that will take time

BeeBe
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Papillon
2 years old - Medium coat - Female
(A huge thank you to our our friend TW who donated to help save our BeeBe's life on behalf of Katherine. Without your help, we could not save dogs like her!)
BeeBe is a 2 year old CKC Spaniel-Papillon-possibly long haired Chihuahua mix who weighs about 10lbs. She is a quiet, reserved, hang out with on your lap type of dog. She is not one who likes a lot of noise or activity. She is looking for a quiet, sedate home where she can be someone's companion without worrying about having to meet and greet with a lot of new people. She's nervous around new people and really is a homebody who prefers the surroundings of people, animals, loved ones that she knows. In the shelter she came to know her kennel attendants and loved them but was very standoffish with people she didn't know.
BeeBe gets along well with other dogs. She's fine in a group setting, so she wouldn't mind going to the dog park. She also wouldn't have to go. She's an excellent dog to consider going to a home with retired folks as she loves to be on your lap and doted on. She could live in an apartment or condo setting as she's not a barker and doesn't require a large yard. Beebe is fine with cats.
BeeBe has wonderful potential to be a loving, sweet little dog in a home where she is given the time to adjust and acclimate and with a new family that is willing to give her a chance!

Rocky Road
Rat Terrier
4-5 years old - Medium coat - Female
Rocky Road is a 4-5 year old Terrier mix with a soft wire coat. She weighs about 7lbs and is a fun-loving spunky gal. Initially she's insecure and she's not always comfortable with strangers picking her up right away. Once she knows people then she loves to climb into their lap and will hang out there. But Rocky Road's absolute love in life is playing fetch. She will play fetch all day long. She will bring the ball back and stand in front of you but she won't let it go. You have to actually take it out of her mouth. It's so funny! Then she gets so excited when she knows you are going to throw the ball for her again. She wants you to take it out of her mouth and she wants you to throw it again, again and again and you can spend all day throwing that ball and she'll fetch it even when she's exhausted.
Rocky Road could be an apartment or condo dog. She could be one who goes on walks, goes to the dog park or hangs out with other doggy social friends. She gets along with big and small dogs and she even shares playing fetch with other friends. Rocky Road is better suited for adults and/or older kids. She's just not a youngsters type of dog. She isn't one who wants to be dressed up, pulled by the tail or really "man-handled" as kids so often do. She's a great adult's dog. She's potty pad trained. She's not a big barker.
Rocky Road has a long soft wire coat that doesn't necessarily need to be professionally groomed. It doesn't continue to grow. It is non-shedding and with regular brushing it stays detangled. It's a fairly easy coat to maintain.

Toys R Us - Fisher Price
Labrador Retriever x German Shepherd Dog
1 year old - Short coat - Male
Fisher Price is a 1 year old Lab-Shepherd mix. He originally came from Taiwan and was found on the streets surviving by eating garbage out of cans and scavenging for food in alleys. He was most likely not well socialized as a puppy and has a shy demeanor. Fisher finds his confidence with other dogs. He does well with dogs of all sizes. He has a very reserved and shy personality. He is easily scared by anything or anyone new. He will need a home that is ready to help him build his confidence. Fisher will need a home that is willing to go slowly with light expectations initially realizing when Fisher does trust and build a relationship it will be an incredibly strong bond. He will do best with an experienced dog owner(s).
